The Home Language Learner’s Book has been developed according to the requirements of the Curriculum and Assessment Policy Statement (CAPS) for Grade 2. The book contains 16 topics for the 40 teaching weeks of the year. The book acts as an aid to teaching Home Language and tell you which phonics, letters and spelling rules are to be taught in the teaching week. The learners learn sight words and spelling words to master the language. Different text types are also introduced to learners.
